2019 President’s Report

2018 was yet another great year for the Monticello Chamber of Commerce! We continued our mission to promote and to support Monticello and its business community. As we look back over 2018, I am proud of the work the Chamber has done.

Our Chamber has implemented several new, exciting ideas this year that have drawn much attention and recognition to our town. First we make a point to visit an existing Chamber member every month. It’s our chance to say Thank You for being a Chamber member. We will continue this in 2019, our goal is to visit all existing Chamber members. We like to bring a small gift and take a photo to publish in the newspaper, our Facebook page and our website. It’s a way to recognize and spotlight the member. We have also started a ribbon cutting ceremony for new businesses in Monticello. We have been blessed this year with several new businesses in town. The ribbon cutting ceremony recognizes the new business and lets them showcase what they are all about. This has been very popular and has been well attended. We hope we can continue this with new businesses in 2019!

Be on the lookout for major changes to our website www.monticello-wi.com in 2019. We have begun the process of switching providers and totally reworking our website. We are very excited for this change. Our Facebook page also continues to grow in views, likes, and posts. It has proven to be an effective way of disseminating information.

The Monticello Money program continues to be a valuable asset. Every purchase made with Monticello money keeps those dollars working in our community. Monticello money can be used just like cash at any Chamber member business. They make great gifts and help the community at the same time!

With all of your help, we’ll make 2019 another great year for Monticello Chamber of Commerce and Monticello. The next time we are all together will be our annual meeting on Wednesday, February 13th at the Twisted Tree. It will be followed by our 4th Annual Chamber Evening Social. Please watch your email for details. We hope to see you all there.

We will continue to work on ideas to incorporate participation among businesses and hopefully drive more people into your business and our community! As always, please feel free to share your ideas with us, and let us know how we can help you grow your business! We wish you a very Happy Holiday season and a peaceful and prosperous New Year!

Thank you,
Sally Roe, Monticello Chamber of Commerce President
